Is SimplePay down? User reports show no current problems with SimplePay
SimplePay is the card payment gateway behind a large share of Hungarian webshops. Buyers land on its payment page to pay by card or through their Simple account. Shops run the money side in the SimplePay Back Office. The Back Office holds transactions, refunds and the technical keys each shop connects with.

Is SimplePay down right now?
The SimplePay status for the payment page and the Back Office reads normal today, with transactions clearing as usual. This page follows SimplePay down reports from buyers and shop owners, so a gateway fault becomes visible fast.
A failed payment is not always a gateway fault: banks refuse cards, and shops mis-set their keys. When the payment page itself will not load for anyone, that is a true SimplePay outage.
Is SimplePay down for me or everyone?
Separate the three players. If other shops take your card through SimplePay, your card and the gateway both work. If the payment page fails at every shop while reports rise here, the gateway side is down.
How does a SimplePay payment run?
The shop hands you to the SimplePay payment page, where you pay by card or with a saved Simple account. Card payments ask your own bank to approve in its app or by code. After approval, SimplePay tells the shop the result and returns you to the shop page.
Behind the scenes, a callback message (the IPN) tells the shop system that money moved. Shops set that callback address in the Back Office. A wrong address leaves orders stuck on unpaid even after good payments.
Is the SimplePay Back Office the same as the payment page?
No, the payment page faces buyers, while the Back Office faces shop staff. The Back Office holds transactions, refunds, payment links and the technical data of the shop.
What are the Merchant ID and Secret Key in SimplePay?
They are the shop’s connection keys, found on the technical data page in the Back Office. The shop system signs each payment request with the Secret Key. A copied key with a stray space breaks checkout for every buyer at that shop.
When does a test payment pass but a live one fail?
Test and live run as separate environments with separate keys and separate shop settings. A shop tested in the sandbox still needs its live keys and live callback set before real buyers arrive. Mixing a test key into the live shop fails every real payment.
Common SimplePay Problems and Fixes
SimplePay trouble usually means a payment page that stalls, a callback that never lands or keys that do not match. Match your side below.
Payment page times out
Leave the shop tab open and wait out the bank approval step before retrying. Closing early can leave the payment half-done at your bank. If the amount left your account, the shop’s transaction list in the Back Office shows the true state.
Order stays unpaid after a good payment
This is the classic missing callback. Check the IPN address in the Back Office against the one your shop system expects. One wrong character in that address strands every order the same way.
Bank approval loops back
The approval step belongs to your own bank, not to SimplePay. Open your banking app and approve the waiting card payment there, then return to the shop tab. If no approval waits in the bank app, the card step never started.
Back Office sign-in fails
Staff accounts sign in at the admin address with the email and password set by the shop admin. A new browser or a cleared cookie store asks for the extra security step again.
Live checkout fails for every buyer
Compare the live keys in your shop system with the technical data page, character by character. Shops often carry the sandbox key into the live setup by mistake.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my SimplePay payment went through?
A finished payment returns you to the shop with a success screen, and the shop sends a confirmation mail. Buyers can also check the charge in their banking app. If money moved but the shop shows unpaid, the shop missed its callback.
Why does my order still show unpaid after paying with SimplePay?
The shop marks orders paid when the SimplePay callback reaches it. A wrong callback address in the Back Office strands the order on unpaid. The payment itself can still be good, which the shop sees in its transaction list.
What is the IPN callback in SimplePay?
It is the automatic message SimplePay sends to the shop system when a payment finishes. Shops set its address in the Back Office system notifications. Without it, orders and stock counts drift out of step with real payments.
Is SimplePay down or is my card refused?
A refused card still loads the payment page and answers with a bank decline. A down gateway fails to load the page at all. Reports on this page show which of the two is spreading today.
Can shops refund a SimplePay payment from the Back Office?
Yes, staff can start refunds on the transaction in the Back Office. The money returns to the buyer’s card through the bank chain.
Where do I find my SimplePay shop keys?
The Merchant ID and Secret Key sit on the technical data page inside the Back Office. Copy them exactly into your shop system, with no extra spaces. Test and live keys differ, so match the environment you run.
