Is SBB down? User reports indicate possible problems with SBB
SBB runs the Swiss federal railways, and SBB Mobile plus sbb.ch are how most riders plan and buy their trips. The app shows platform changes, lets you check in with EasyRide, buy tickets with TWINT or card and claim refunds. Your SwissPass sits inside the app as your login and ticket wallet.

Is SBB down right now?
SBB down reports jump when ticket buying or the timetable search fails during a busy travel peak. This page watches the SBB status for the app and the website and maps every report onto one timeline. A sharp rise in the morning usually means the fault hits commuters first.
Broken ticket sales draw far more reports than a slow station page. Watch which feature the comments name before you blame your own phone. If reports fall again within minutes, the fault cleared and a retry is worth it.
Is SBB down for me or everyone?
Compare the app with sbb.ch in a browser, because a fault in one does not always touch the other. If both fail while other sites answer, the problem sits with SBB systems. If only your app hangs on the start screen, clear its cache or sign in again.
How does EasyRide check you in and out?
You swipe once before boarding and once after leaving, and EasyRide builds your journey from the location trace. Bluetooth must stay on, since beacons at stations confirm where you changed trains. At the end of the day the system charges the cheapest fare for the trips it saw.
Which tickets can you refund inside the app?
Untouched tickets can go back through the refund button in the ticket view before their validity starts. The money returns to the payment method you bought with. Partly used or expired tickets follow stricter rules and need the website form.
When does a bought ticket not appear in the app?
A ticket hides when the buying finished under a guest checkout while the app expects your SwissPass login. Slow payment approval also delays the ticket, above all with bank apps that need a separate confirmation. If the ticket stays missing after payment, a wider SBB outage in the shop is likely.
Which extras can you add to a ticket in the app?
Yes, seat reservations for long distance trains and bike reservations sit inside the normal buying flow. You pick the train, add the reservation and pay both parts in one step. The reservation shows beside your ticket with coach and seat numbers.
Common SBB Problems and Fixes
Payment stops and missing tickets lead the SBB complaint list by a wide margin. These fixes cover the login, the shop and the EasyRide trace.
Ticket buying stops at the payment step
Check whether the ticket arrived despite the error screen. Banks that ask for approval inside their own app often leave the payment hanging, so confirm it there first. Buying again without that check leads to a double charge.
The app asks you to sign in again and again
Sign out fully in the profile area, close the app and sign back in with your SwissPass data. A session that expired during an update causes the loop most often. If the loop survives, remove the app and install it fresh, then sign in once more.
Your bought ticket shows a blank screen
Raise the screen brightness and open the ticket again, since a dark barcode confuses staff scanners and the app dims it. Pull the ticket list down to force a fresh load from the server. Offline copies return after the app syncs once with a network.
EasyRide never starts your journey
Check that location access stands on always and that Bluetooth is on before you swipe. Battery saving modes kill the trace in the background and the journey never forms. End any stuck trip in the EasyRide history so the next swipe starts clean.
The timetable search finds no connection
Clear the via field and any saved filters, since an old stop in the via box blocks every result. Long station names need the exact spelling the timetable uses. If the search still fails for all routes, test the same trip on sbb.ch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does SBB Mobile log me out so often?
The app ties your session to the SwissPass login and ends idle sessions for safety. An update or a cleared cache also forces a fresh sign-in.
What should I do if I paid but got no ticket?
Wait a few minutes and pull the ticket list down to refresh it. Check your bank statement before you buy again, since a held amount means the shop still processes the order.
How do I get a refund for an unused ticket?
Open the ticket in the app and tap the refund option before validity begins. The refund returns to your original payment method. Used or expired tickets need the form on the website.
Is EasyRide cheaper than buying single tickets?
EasyRide adds up your trips and charges the best matching fare for the day. You still need to check out after every ride.
Does the SBB app work offline with my tickets?
Bought tickets stay stored on the phone and open without a signal. Live delays and platform changes need a connection. Load your ticket before you enter a tunnel stretch with weak coverage.
Can I buy a ticket for someone else in the app?
Yes, add fellow travellers during the booking and their tickets join your wallet. Each traveller shows a separate barcode for control.
