Is Postman Down Right Now?
No, Postman is working normally right now. The cloud sync, the web app, and the API are up. There is no broad Postman outage at this time. If your collections will not sync, the cause is usually your local app or your network, not a Postman service failure.
Postman is the API development platform used to build and test APIs, with desktop apps, a web app, and cloud sync. Postman publishes its own status page for real incidents. Most Postman status complaints are local: login loops, sync failures, and collections that get overwritten by another device.
Is Postman Down for Me or Everyone?
Check the live Postman status graph at the top of this page and the official Postman status page. A spike in reports means a real incident. A flat line means your app is the problem. Try the web app in your browser, because if that works, the issue is with your desktop install.
Why Am I Stuck in a Login Loop?
The classic Postman problem is the desktop login loop. You sign in on the web, the browser should hand the token back to the app, but the app just asks you to sign in again. This is a corrupted local session. Sign out on both web and desktop, clear the local Postman data folder, and sign in fresh.
On Mac the data lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Postman, on Windows in %APPDATA%\Postman, and on Linux in ~/.config/Postman. Deleting this folder forces a clean rebuild. Export your collections first if they are not synced, because unsynced local data will be lost.
Why Is Sync Not Working?
Sync failures usually come from an expired auth token, a workspace ID mismatch, or a corporate proxy breaking the connection. Sign out and back in to refresh the token. Corporate proxies with SSL inspection clash with the app, so ask your network team to add Postman to the inspection bypass list.
Why Did My Collection Get Overwritten?
Postman sync uses last-write-wins, so editing the same collection on two machines can silently overwrite your work. There is no merge dialog on free plans. Export collections as JSON backups before big edits, and use the changelog on paid plans to restore a previous version.
Why Is the Desktop App Crashing?
Crashes often come from hardware acceleration fighting your graphics drivers. Turn it off from the Help menu on Windows and Linux, or the Postman menu on Mac, then restart. Clear the cache with Help > Clear Cache and Reload before reinstalling, because a reinstall alone keeps the bad data.
Common Postman Problems and Fixes
Session Expired Loop
Remove local data completely and sign in fresh. Test the web app first to confirm your account itself is fine.
Collections Not Syncing
Sign out and back in to refresh the token. Clear the IndexedDB sync cache and let the app re-sync from scratch.
App Freezes on Launch
Disable hardware acceleration and restart. If it still freezes, wipe the local data folder and reinstall the latest version.
Requests Timing Out
Turn off your VPN or proxy and try a different network. Allowlist Postman domains if you are behind a corporate firewall.
API Key Errors in Scripts
Run postman login to refresh the local token, or pass a fresh API key explicitly. Make sure the key belongs to the account with workspace access.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does ‘Could not get any response’ mean in Postman?
This usually means Postman cannot reach the API at all, not that the API sent an error. A wrong address, a stopped local server, or a blocking proxy are the common causes. Test the address in a browser, and check the proxy settings under Postman Settings.
Why is Postman stuck in a login loop?
The local session is corrupted. Sign out everywhere, delete the local Postman data folder, and sign in again.
Why is Postman sync not working?
An expired token, a workspace mismatch, or a corporate proxy is usually to blame. Sign out and back in, then check your network.
How do I clear Postman cache?
Open the desktop app and choose Help > Clear Cache and Reload. For deeper issues, delete the local data folder entirely.
Why did my Postman collection get overwritten?
Postman uses last-write-wins sync with no merge dialog. Export JSON backups before editing on multiple machines.
How do I fix an SSL certificate error in Postman?
Postman cannot trust the certificate the server sends back. Local development servers often use self-signed certificates, which triggers this warning. For local testing only, you can turn off SSL certificate verification in Postman Settings.
