Is IRD eFiling down? User reports show no current problems with IRD eFiling
IRD eFiling is the online tax portal of Myanmar's Internal Revenue Department, where registered taxpayers file returns and arrange payment. Accounts open after an email confirmation and an approval step, and sign-in runs on your Taxpayer Identification Number. This page follows IRD eFiling status; an IRD eFiling down report usually means the filing screens have stopped responding.

Is IRD eFiling down right now?
Reports here track the IRD eFiling status, and IRD eFiling down reports climb hard as filing deadlines approach. The portal carries registrations, returns and payment records for taxpayers who must file online. A deadline-week fault looks dramatic, yet most clear within hours.
If the portal fails to open, try again outside the busiest hours. Note the exact error wording on screen before you retry. That wording separates a portal fault from an account fault, and it speeds up any support call.
Is IRD eFiling down for me or everyone?
Use a second device or network to test the same sign-in. If your account opens there, your first setup has the problem. If the portal rejects every route, the fault sits with the department systems and all filers share it.
Registering an eFiling account step by step
Registration starts on the eFiling site with your taxpayer details. The department then sends a confirmation email to the address you gave. Clicking through that email proves the address is yours and moves the account forward.
A second email carries the approval once the department checks the registration. Only approved accounts can sign in and file. Save both emails, since support asks about them when an account stalls. Keep the registered email active, since the account depends on it for resets.
Signing in with your TIN
The sign-in asks for your Taxpayer Identification Number, your registered tax office, your email and your password. One wrong field blocks the whole login without naming the culprit. Type the TIN slowly, since a single digit error is the most common cause. The same details sign you in on any computer, so guard them like a bank password.
Filing a return inside the system
The e-Filing Management System takes returns for Specific Goods Tax, Commercial Tax and Capital Gains Tax, with prescribed forms for each. Fill the form in one sitting and keep your own copy of every figure. During an IRD eFiling outage near a deadline, a half-finished return is the worst place to be, so start early in the filing window.
Paying through e-Payment after filing
After a return is filed, the e-Payment side takes over. Channels include mobile banking, internet banking and wallet services, plus the CBM-Net route through a local bank. Keep the payment reference until the filing record shows the payment beside your return. A paid record and its return travel together in the system from that point.
Common IRD eFiling Problems and Fixes
Filing portal problems follow the account journey: approval first, then sign-in, then the return itself. Find your stage below and follow its fix.
Approval email never arrives
Check the spam folder first, then confirm the email address on your registration. Approval follows a department check, so it is slower than the instant confirmation email. If days pass, contact your tax office with your TIN and registration details.
Login rejects the correct password
The form needs the TIN, tax office, email and password to all match the registration. Re-enter each field fresh instead of trusting saved values. After several failures, use the password recovery route rather than guessing on.
Portal logs you out mid-return
Long forms and slow connections end sessions early. Fill returns in steady sittings and save figures in your own notes as you go. Signing back in returns you to the filing dashboard, where you can restart the return cleanly.
Payment made but filing shows unpaid
Payments post to the record after the bank channel settles them. Keep the payment reference and check the record again later the same day. If it stays unpaid, raise it with your tax office and the reference in hand.
e-Registration for a TIN will not submit
New companies get their TIN through the e-Registration system on the department site. Check every required field and document entry before submitting. A stalled submission on a weak connection often goes through on a fresh try from a desktop browser.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who must file returns online?
Taxpayers under the Large and Medium Taxpayer Offices must file electronically. Other taxpayers can also choose the online route once registered. Filing on paper is not an option for those offices.
How do I get a Taxpayer Identification Number?
New companies register through the e-Registration system on the department website. The TIN issued there opens both eFiling and e-Payment.
Which returns can I file in the portal?
Specific Goods Tax, Commercial Tax and Capital Gains Tax returns run through the system. Prescribed forms for each sit on the department website.
How do I pay my tax online?
Use the e-Payment channels after filing: mobile banking, internet banking, wallet services or CBM-Net through a bank. Keep the payment reference safe.
Why is my account still not approved?
Approval follows a manual check by the department after you confirm your email. It takes longer than the confirmation step, so watch the inbox you registered with.
Where are the user guide videos?
The department website hosts guide videos that walk through account registration and return filing step by step. Watch the matching video before your first filing.
